All of us try to get more traffic to our sites.But mostly spend time on advertising, branding, buying things etc.Leaving all that here are the 49 ways to get more traffic to your site/blog.

  1. Be topical
  2. Submit your site to social media such as digg, delicious etc.
  3. Join facebook and make as many as friends and discuss about your blog with them
  4. Be the first unique publisher on your site/blog
  5. Break news
  6. Post regularly
  7. Don’t write lengthy posts, instead write short posts with useful tips.
  8. Include polls
  9. Encourage your readers to subscribe to your feed
  10. Make your RSS subscribe button
  11. Make RSS button noticeable
  12. Use top commentators plugin
  13. Be original
  14. Be controversial
  15. Become top commentator on high PR blogs
  16. Write about Social media in your blog
  17. Post in your niche
  18. Use images in your posts
  19. Choose a Best Template.
  20. Answer your email.

  24. Create e-books and distribute it for free

useful tips, thanks. Regarding mybloglog – I signed in but I didn’t really find it very efficient for socializing and improving traffic. You get a lot of traffic from it?

I too don’t get a lot of traffic from mybloglog, but something is better than nothing

Thank you for the tips on getting more traffic. I just finished “Crush It” with that and reading your blog I have found the importance of social networking systems. Really enjoyed the 49 ways to increase traffic.

What about stumble? Adding a good place for thumbs up, etc. That’s how I found you, so something must work for you there. I have encouraged a couple of my web consulting clients to include this feature near their other top icons (digg, rss, tweet, etc.)
